The Confucius Institute Headquarters has certified the OCT (Oral Chinese Test) as a rigorous assessment tool designed to support individuals and organizations in enhancing their spoken Chinese proficiency.

The OCT offers a structured evaluation process that assesses Mandarin listening and speaking skills through a fully online testing platform. It is organized into four sequential stages: [Beginner], [Progressive], [Intermediate], and [Application], with each stage comprising two levels to facilitate gradual skill development.

The [Application] stage features over ten industry-specific assessments, allowing for a targeted evaluation of learners' oral Chinese competencies within workplace contexts. Notable categories include: Accounting, Advanced Communication, Airline Services, Applied Communication, Banking, Food and Beverage, Hotel, Insurance, Investment and Finance, Property Management, Retailing, and Trade and Commerce.

In terms of standards alignment, OCT levels correspond with the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR), ensuring international consistency. Additionally, the test results integrate seamlessly with the Hanyu Shuiping Kaoshi (HSK) framework.

Test results are typically available within seven days of the examination date. Certificates and comprehensive Competency Reports are dispatched to applicants' mailing addresses within thirty days. The three-page report provides detailed analytic data to help test takers identify their strengths and areas for improvement, supporting further language development.
